IF DESIGN AWARD 2021

In early 2020, our IBM Design Education team faced an unprecedented challenge: completely transitioning our 8-week, in-person training program to a 100% virtual format for designers across the globe. With IBM's Enterprise Design Thinking at its core, we conceptualized an objectives-based, storied approach to the course, where every lesson, activity, and talk aligned to an underlying "hero's journey." We successfully reinvented the program from the inside out, ensuring that graduating designers still left with the same resiliency and thirst to take on the challenges of their product teamwork and shape the future of IBM. As a Content Designer and Producer on the team, I was tasked with capturing and documenting this incredible story.

The significant content development and production garnered an IF Design Award 2021 for Service Design and Education/Learning.

Before and after the 8-week all-virtual program I was able to interview over 20 Patterns participants, their leaders, and the team to get their insights and first-hand account of their experience. I was able to turn this into a mini-documentary that was part of the package we submitted for the IF Design Award.
